Potential temporary interruptions to a small number of digital library resources

Friday, 27 March, 2026

As part of NES’s move to the new Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) organisation in April 2026, a few subscription renewals for The Knowledge Network may take slightly longer than usual. We expect most services to continue as normal, but a small number may experience short interruptions during March and April.

If you rely on a particular resource at this time of year - for study, training, or clinical work - we recommend saving or downloading anything you know you’ll need in advance. Any interruptions would be temporary, and Knowledge Services can help you find alternatives if required.

We will share updates closer to the time and are planning ahead to keep any disruption to a minimum.

FAQ

Why are you telling me about this?

NES is moving to the new Public Services Delivery Scotland organisation in April 2026. During this transition, a few subscription renewals for The Knowledge Network may take slightly longer than usual. We’re sharing this in advance, so users aren’t caught off guard.

Will I lose access to everything?

No. Most resources are expected to continue as normal. Only a small number of subscriptions with renewal dates in March or April are at risk of short-term interruption.

How long would any interruption last?

If a delay happens, we expect it to be brief. Access would return as soon as administrative processes in the new organisation are complete.

Do I need to do anything?

No, unless you rely on a particular tool, journal, or database at this time of year. It may help to download or save anything you know you’ll need in advance. However, we expect any interruptions to be brief so this would only be necessary in very specific situations.

Where can I get help or alternatives?
