Wikis

A wiki is a webpage that allows users to create, edit and link content. If a number of you are working on a document this is a good tool to use to collaborate.

Some Wikis are editable by any member of the community others will be limited to particular members. If you want to add, delete or change any part of an existing Wiki and you have permissions you can do so by:

Contribute to an existing wiki

Click on the title of a wiki

Click on the 'Edit page' link in the bar below the navigation.

(Contact the adminstrator of the community, if the link is not available)

Click on the 'Edit' link in the top right hand corner of the widget.

Click 'save' at the bottom of the widget once you are finished contributing.

Click 'Publish wiki' to publish the new content live on the web.

Create a new wiki

Before creating a new wiki try searching or browsing the wikis available to make sure it does not exist already.

Using the 'Create Wiki' widget - enter a title and a description and click 'create'. The page will open in your newly created wiki. Click on the 'Edit' link to start adding new content.

Your new wiki will be listed alphabetically by title in the main list on the wiki landing page and be available through the search.

Creating a new Wiki entry

Within a wiki you can create entries, which are new wiki pages. For example, you might use multiple wiki entries if you were working on a book. Each chapter would be a new entry.

Use the 'Create wiki entry' widget to add new wiki pages to an existing wiki.

Enter a title and description and click 'Create'
