Welcome to Social Services Practitioner Forums
THIS SITE IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT
National Practitioner Forum
There is a National Practitioners group which consists of representatives from each of the Local Practitioner Forums (LPFs) to address issues on a local and national basis.
This is the website that brings together the LPFs on a national level to share resources and to promote effective communication. If you have any suggestions about how to improve this site, please use the 'get in touch' box, we'd like to hear from you.
What are the LPFs?
An LPF offers front line practitioners from each of the local authority areas the opportunity to meet and discuss local and national issues associated with their day to day work. It brings practitioners together from across the social services workforce, enabling them to share ideas, experiences and to reflect on social services developments in their local area; influencing change through sharing ideas and conclusions.
Update on the National Chair Post
As you may be aware, the LPFs are currently without a National Chair. Funding has been secured for a part time post and the deadline for applications is October 4th, 2010. Applicants will then be interviewed in Edinburgh at a date yet to be set. To find out more information, please click on the links below.
Blogging about the LPFs
Hello everyone!
I (Susan Lindner) have been in communication with several Local Practitioner Forums over the last wee while, so I thought it would be useful to share some of these chats with you all more generally. I will also use this blog to flag up any points that I want to consult with you all regarding the website. I will try to update this blog after each LPF meeting, but not being a natural 'blogger' (if there is such a thing!), I am not promising well written, works of art!South Lanarkshire Council LPF, June 2nd 2010
Highland Council LPF - June 24th 2010
