  • NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework

The NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) is the core framework for developing staff in the NHS. It outlines your role by describing the knowledge and skills you need to apply within your job. It forms the basis of an ongoing cycle of review, planning, development and evaluation for all staff in the NHS which links organisational and individual development needs.

An online version, the e-KSF, is designed to help individuals and their managers track progress for the review process and to maintain a personal development plan; a portfolio of evidence; and view their KSF outline and dimension details.
